In August 2000, the City of Tukwila contracted with CeSI to provide search engine optimization services for its website http://www.thinktukwila.com . CeSI reviewed the website for design barriers.
CeSI performed extensive keyword research and wrote a report identifying strategies for improving the site. The report detailed the top phrases for the site and provided specific direction to the web master, programmers and hosting company for implementation of changes.
The recommendations from this report were implemented and traffic to the site rose from 250 to 2,250 monthly unique visitors. Then in 2002 SeaTac partnered with Tukwila to co-promote tourism in the area through the website www.seattlesouthside.com. The new entity contracted with CeSI to provide consulting to the Website Committee to produce a request for a proposal and select a web design firm. CeSI was also retained to provide search engine optimization. By 2004 this agreement was expanded to include coordination of pay per click strategies under a modest budget. In 2006 the organization was expanded to promote new partners Kent and Des Moines through the website. In 2010 following the launch of an upgraded website, the organization engaged CeSI to further boost its pay per click and social media marketing. Through the combined marketing efforts of SSRTA staff and CeSI the site now receives an average of over 32,000 unique visitors a month.
